Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Auction and Donation

Donna Karan has issued a special Breast Cancer Awareness edition of Cashmere Mist. She is doing her part in reminding the public of the importance of contributing to the cure for Breast Cancer. Donna Karan Cosmetics will make a donation of $15,000 in connection with the sales of the Limited-Edition Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Eau de Parfum Spray to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Cashmere Mist’s engaging warm scent is soft and sensual, creating the sublime sensation of skin wrapped in cashmere. This cause is very near and dear to my heart as my mother is battling with breast cancer for the second time and a dear cousin just passed away at the young age of 50 due to breast cancer. The Beat by Burberry is Blake Lively’s go to fragrance. She describes it as fresh and light but still has impact.

The Beat is described as a sparkling floral woody fragrance; the notes feature bergamot, mandarin, Ceylon tea, cardamom, pink pepper, bluebell, iris, white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. It starts very bright, with tart fruit and juicy citrus. There is lots of pink pepper and a teensy little pinch of cardamom. The heart is sheer bluebell-ish florals, still very bright; the base is cool and pale and summery, and smoothed over with a smidgen of iris.  It smells young and cheerful and clean, and is a pretty good match with the mood of the print ad.

Scarlett Johansson absolutely drips with femininity in this ad for Dolce & Gabbana’s Rose the One. It’s a refreshing scent and although it definitely brings up memories of rose gardens, it doesn’t remind you of your grandmother’s perfume. This fragrance is described as lavishly feminine, is a modern interpretation of a rose floral with fresh top notes of pink grapefruit and mandarin.

FlowerBomb Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of FlowerBomb by Viktor & Rolf a large floral arrangement of the bottles were constructed for the gala. The floral sculpture itself is an explosion of roses, carnations, and gerberas shaped into a stack of the scent’s signature grenade-shaped perfume bottles.  Little Pheasant constructed the arrangement and you can read about the construction on their blog.

As I sit here smelling the sample of Euphoria for Men, I imagine a very modern professional man would love this scent. I decided to search for some reviews and see what other women think of this perfume.

Under age 18, very trendy male: I love this fragrance. It’s sweet and sexy. I use it as my formal occasion cologne and it’s probably my favorite cologne ever.

Age 25-29, sporty male: Got this as a gift. This smells great. This is my first CK cologne and it didn’t disappoint me. The smell lasts for a long time and makes you feel good.

Age 18-24 male: THIS PERFUME HAS IT’S THING WHEN YOU WEAR IT YOU FEEL CONFIDENCE BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT SMELLS GOOD ITS INTENSE AND UNRESISTABLE:-) WHEN YOU SMELL IT YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE IT.

Age 30-39 woman: This is a very sexy fragance for men. My husband uses it on a daily basis and loves it due to its freshness. When he leaves to work early in the morning, the aroma of his cologne stays in a room for a while.

Age 30-39 male: This fragrance is just awesome! It isn’t strong and over bearing, it’s soft and smells just great….

Age 40-49 male: I recently purchased the Calvin Klein Euphoria in the larger 3.4 oz size. After receiving many compliments, I’m thankful that I bought the larger size. The fragrance is ALLURING. It has a soft, sweet, and long lasting scent. I simply Love it!!!!

I read through lots of reviews and didn’t find anyone that didn’t like it. It seems it is a hit with all ages of men, although I found more women in the late 20s to 30s that seemed to really like it on their man. There were lots of reviews by men who stated it made them feel more confident so I was right in imaging a modern professional man. Its amazing scent includes the mixture of ginger pepper, patchouli, and suede.
